Over the weekend, 2 separate accidents on Gordon Highway resulted in fatalities.

January 18th, 2021

Around 6 pm, a vehicle was traveling east when the driver lost control and struck a telephone pole and a number of parked cars near the Highway 25 overpass.

The driver of the vehicle, John Hall of Augusta, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The passenger of the vehicle was transported to AU Medical Center for treatment.

January 19th, 2021

At Gordon Highway and Wylds Road, a 2009 Toyota Camry was speeding down Gordon Highway, when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The car overturned multiple times and ejected both occupants.

The deceased have been identified as Kayla Thomas and Veuncle Ivey both of Thomson.
